Tonight was our first Tricks Class, which was held at Austin Dog Alliance's new training facility. Lacy Browning, one of Austin’s well known Obedience trainers, will be covering this class. During the class she also discussed putting a focus on using trick training as a way to build a stronger working relationship, between you and your dog. And to make sure to have FUN when training your canine companion!
Some of the tricks she will be teaching include:
Shake hands
Play dead
Weave between the owner’s legs
Achoo! Get me a Kleenex
Turn out the light
Sit up to “beg”
Retrieve a ball or toy
Spin
Back up
Tonight we learned "waving", "shaking hands" and "weaving between our legs". Slider was over the top with excitement!!! And yes, we had FUN!!!!

Getting Strong Now
Monday, Feb. 16, 2009
Today we had Slider's Physical Therapy appointment. Our goal is to work on getting Slider fit and in condition to return to Agility. We have not competed or attended classes since moving to Austin, about 16 months ago. Now, that we are settled into Austin we want to return to Agility.
My nephew, William, went with us to Slider's appointment. William was fascinated watching Slider on the AquaTreadmill and wanted to tape it, so that he could share it with his brother, Mom and Dad.
